Jack – ADOPTED

Jack is likely a Wheaton Terrier Mix – with what we don’t know.  He is about 8 years old (that is a guess), and weighs in at 56 lbs.  He is a very affectionate dog, he likes to lean on people, it is cute.  He still gets excited and jumps up, which we are working on.  He listens very well.

Jack

He is very good with other dogs, but does get grumpy with the more hyper dogs that get in his face…he never bites, he just lets out a little quiet growl to let them know he doesn’t like their behavior and to leave him alone.

He lets the small dogs jump on him and he tolerates it very well.  When he has had enough, he just rumbles a little under his breath.  He will make an awesome addition to a home that does not want a highly active dog.

His adoption fee is $395.  He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated and microchipped.  You can email us to request an adoption application or you can download one from the Adoption Process Page of this Blog.

Jack

Chiklin – adopted

Chicklet is a sweet little chihuahua who must have had a little bit of a rough life.  He is young only about 2 or 3, and his teeth verify that, but the white around his face makes him seem older. He was very scared when he arrived, but is coming out of his shell nicely.  He barks at me when he wants water or food…or even when he decides that he wants to play…and when he plays with me, it is soooo cute!

Chicklet

He is pretty small so any yard will need to have proper fencing, where he cannot squeeze out and escape.  He has tried to find ways out of my yard.  He is crate trained and likes to sleep under cover.  He seems to be house trained as he has not had any accidents outside of the crate, however may have accidents in a new environment.

He is fine with other dogs, but does tell the off the wall pups off.  He likes to play with toys, little tennis balls and small things.  He likes sweet potato and duck treats alot, but doesn’t groove on any milkbone type treats.

His adoption fee is $495.  He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and flea treated.  You can email us to request an application or you can download one from the Adoption Process Page of this blog.

Mr. Brown – adopted

Mr. Brown is a cute little terrier mix who is about 1 year old.  He weighs in at about 8 lbs but is a little underweight.  He is a playful little guy, loves people and is fine with other dogs.  He barks when put into his crate for bedtime, but stops fairly quickly.  He is crate trained, and is still working on his house training, but that shouldn’t take long with a routine and schedule.
Mr. Brown

Mr. Brown is a little sensitive and should never be harshly reprimanded.  He should not be in a home with small children as he does not like to be grabbed. Mutual respect training is what this little sweetie needs.

is adoption fee is $395.  He has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated and flea treated.  An adoption application and home visit is required.  You can email us at adoptionsdmrs@yahoo.ca to request an adoption application or you can download one from the Adoption Process Page of this blog.

Spankee

Spankee is a young tike, about 7 – 8 months old and full of beans!!  He is super playful, with people and dogs.  He is nippy when excited, but this isn’t a major issue.  He bounces up and down and likes to jump up on people, which we are trying to discourage, but he can’t help it, he is so happy to see you!

Spankee

We don’t really know what mix Spankee is, but our guess is a long haired chihuahua mixed with a wiener dog or a spaniel. Doesn’t matter though cause he is a sweetie!  He is still working on his house training routine, and is doing well.  He is crate trained now, with some barking after being put in the crate, which stops after about 3 minutes.

He doesn’t like to be left alone, and will bark to let you know about it, but this too is starting to get better.  He needs someone who will be consistent with his training, and someone who will not coddle him making his separation anxiety worse not better.

Yankee’s adoption fee is $395.  He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and flea treated.  An adoption application and home visit is required.  You can email us at adoptionsdmrs@yahoo.ca to request an adoption application or you can download one from the Adoption Process Page of this blog.

Tofu and Nori – adopted

Tofu 5.2lbs and Nori 4.2lbs are Chihuahua sisters that are about 16 weeks old.  They are very, very timid chihuahua’s when you first meet them but once they have gotten comfortable with their surroundings they are spunky, energetic and loving puppies. It took them about 2 weeks to get comfortable enough to come out of their crate so you will have to be patient. Because they are so timid we would prefer these girls went to homes without small children.

They are crate trained and almost 100% trained to use pee pads as long as they know where to find them. They are both very well behaved with other dogs. Not sure how they are with cats since we do not have one.

Tofu and Nori

Tofu is a very playful chihuahua that loves to run around and play with her chew toys when she has gotten all her energy out she loves to cuddle up with you under the blankets. Nori is a very sweet, loving chihuahua that always wants to know what you’re up too, she likes to play fetch, sit with you buried into your lap, and when you’re talking to her she gets excited and will whine back to you.

Nori does get very anxious when leaving the house and going for car rides, she foams at the mouth and throws up this will need to be worked on by taking her out for short trips and for short amounts of time. Overall they are amazing little chihuahuas! They do not have to go together, but they sure do love eachother!!!!

The adoption fee for these deserving little girls are $495 (each) – includes spay, vaccines, deworm, flea treatment and microchip.  An adoption application and home visit is required.

Louie – adopted

Louie is about 4.5 years old.  Our breed guess – Shihtzu x Jack Russell.  He weighs in at about 13 lbs.  He is a great dog, fully trained, house trained, leash trained.  He knows his commands very well.  And yes he does shed.  His coat is soft and wirey, and can get fairly long.  Grooming him at least twice a year, would keep the shedding to a minimum, and keep him clean in the rainy months.

Louie Louie

He likes to play with other dogs at the dog park. Louie is not fond of young children, he is terrified of them.  He will run and hide from the children and cower in a corner or under something to get away from them….No Children for this sweet boy.  And he needs a cat free home as well.

He is an adorable guy, with a nice disposition.  He is energetic and sassy.  He is happiest running off leash at the park and at the beach.  He has a great recall as he has taken a couple  levels of obedience.  He will test his owners, so you must show him what you expect of him and be very consistent.  Louie is a very social guy, but really needs quiet time. Fire alarms, vacuums’, loud sounds in general really stress him out, more that your average dog.  Having active owners would be ideal for Louie, as he will get bored just being an indoor dog.
Louie’s adoption fee is $395.00  He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations.  Please email us for an adoption application.  A home visit is also required.

Jessie – ADOPTED

Jessie is 5 years old and weighs about 7.7 lbs.  He is a very sweet loving little man, but is shy upon first meetings. Once he gets to know you, he loves to cuddle and love you.  He loves to burrow under the covers, like most chihuahuas do.  Sometimes I look all over for him and think I lost him, but he was burrowed under the blankets the whole time.
Jessie

Jessie is also camera shy, I will try to get a head shot later this week.

Jessie is fine with other dogs, but is a little abrupt on first meetings, is fine with cats, and would prefer a child free home. He might like to be with another dog, but he may also love to be an only child.  He is house broken, and will use peepads if necessary.  He is leash trained, and crate trained

He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed.  His adoption fee is $395.00 An adoption application and home visit is required.

Soda-Pop and Neehi – adopted after waiting 3 years for their perfect person to come!

Every time I think of adopting out these brothers, my heart breaks.  I have had them with me, in my own home since September of 2009 and I love them both so much.  When they arrived they were puppies, 9 months old, super high energy and no manners…but they have been here so long, they are over 2 years old, they have grown and learned so much.

Sodapop and Neehi

NEEHI AND SODAPOP AFTER PLAYING IN THE MUD

Soda-Pop is more of a needy personality, he always wants attention and cuddles.  He is a very sensitive personality and a total suck. When I wake up in the morning, the very first thing I do is get all the dogs out to the yard to pee.  Soda refuses to go out until I pick him up and give him a good morning hug.  Once he has received his hug, he willingly goes out to pee.   Neehi is more resilient and independent but still loves to cuddle, he doesn’t demand a good morning hug, but goes out to the bathroom, then comes back inside for his beginning of the day hug and kiss.   They both LOVE to sleep under cover, and are blanket hogs.

Soda is smaller than Neehi, but they do look like twins.  Because they look like twins, they have been picked up a couple of times by an animal talent agency and have been in 3 TV commercials.  Their agents would love to be able to use them in the future, and also hope they find a home together. Watch them in the Campbell’s Soup commercial below.  It’s a quick 2 second appearance, but are they ever cute!!!

I will be very particular in placing these brothers, I know them very well and they deserve so much.  Both of them are hand shy, and it has always been clear they have been hit and abused often in the first 8 months of their lives before coming to us.  They are also sensitive to yelling.  A home that can provide equal leadership with gentle, patient correction, love, and plenty of exercise is key to their mental and physical well-being.

Both dogs are high energy and love to play – they are awesome with dogs of all sizes, but are cat killers.  They would prefer to live in a child free home, as Soda does not tolerate children very well.  They need a home with a large fully fenced, escape proof yard.  They love to chase and wrestle with one another, and love chasing balls and squeaky toys.

the weiner brothers

Soda and Neehi are crate trained and sleep in their crate together every night, however I would love to see them go to a home where they are allowed to sleep in their human’s bed – cause they would really love that.  They are house broken, but will mark in a new home initially.  The brothers have some training – but I have not forced them to be perfect.  Their home must be clean, and chairs must be pushed in.  They love to hop up on the chair and onto my desk to use my computer.

Sodapop and Neehi must be adopted together, we will not split them up.  The adoption fee for the Weiner Brothers – together – is $600 – They are neutered, vaccinated, chipped, wormed, and flea treated.  An adoption application and home visit is required.

Elly – ADOPTED

Elly is a sweet little Chihuahua.  She is 6 years old and weighs in at just under 4 lbs.  Elly likes other dogs upon proper introductions, and would do well in a home with another small dog, if not her buddy Jessie.  She is also fine with cats.
Elly

Because she is so small, a child free home is what she is looking for.  Elly is super affectionate, loves to cuddle and sleep undercover. She is house broken and crate trained.

Elly is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $495.00.  An adoption application and home visit is required.

Kingston – adopted

Kingston is about 2 years old.  He has lived his life being called a Miniature Pinscher, however I am not so sure he is fully that.  He is very large for a MinPin – he tips the scale at just over 20lbs.  I am thinking he is part Manchester Terrier, but who knows, maybe MinPins can be this big? You can see in the photo Apple, who is about 10 lbs.

Kingston and Apple
Kingston has learned to be a normal dog in the 3 short weeks he has been here.  When he showed up he thought he was the boss of all that, but quickly learned from the pack that he ain’t all that!!  He has stopped being food aggressive, and shares now, or he will wait til everyone else has finished eating.  He has learned that big dogs are his friends too and that he doesn’t have to act like he is a tough guy anymore.

He however has not learned that cats can be his friends too.  So no cats for Kingston Please!  Kingston has learned that the work NO means NO.  Off means Off, Leave it means Leave it, and go in your house means go in your crate.  With the right owner who shows positive leadership without any “alpha dog” type training, Kingston will make a wonderful companion. He learns quickly, and is willing to please.

The previous owners have told me that Kingston was great with their grandchildren, but I have not had a chance to see how he is with children myself.

Sweet Kingston

Kingston’s adoption fee is $295.00 – He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed.  An adoption application and home visit is required.
