Taggart (also known as Big Al) – ADOPTED

Taggart came from a shelter in the Fraser Valley.  Totally untrained, zero manners.  And grossly overweight. He has already had 2, well I guess you could call it 3 previous homes, before landing himself with us.

In his time with us Taggart has learned many manners, although he is still a high energy, exuberant lab puppy inside.  He looks so much older than his 18 months of age.  He has learned that jumping up on people and knocking them to the ground is unacceptable.  His recall on the 7 acres here is great!  He now goes in his crate on command, where before we had to fight with all our might to get him in there.  He is totally non-aggressive and non-reactive with other dogs, he is not shy to run right up to any dog and beg them to play.  But some dogs don’t dig this invitation.  Taggart absolutely loves people. We have not tested him with cats.

Taggart 4/15/11

Taggart needs a home without small children, he would never hurt them on purpose but he is very excitable, and playful..with his size and strength – he could hurt little people.  He needs a family that will exercise him, and feed him a healthy low fat diet.  He is not a dog who would do well going for only two walks a day.  He needs to walk lots, and lose some weight.  He loves to run, but we don’t encourage him to over run.  His weight is not good for his joints.

Taggert (Big AL)

Taggart has calmed so much since he came to us, he is such a loving dog.  All he wants is to have a forever home to call his own.  To be able to hang out in the house with them, go for long walks, play with his balls and toys and eat healthy low fat foods.

Taggart is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed,  and tattooed.  His adoption fee is $150.00

An adoption application and home visit is required.  We are determined to find Taggart his forever home, once and for all.

I saw your ad on Craigslist about Taggart. I think he would love to come and live with us outside of Chilliwack.
We have a big yard and another special female doggie mix called Maggie. We also have a one of a kind black cat who is Maggie’s best friend. Maggie needs a friend as her one and only friend died a year ago at the age of seventeen. She could really do with some other canine person to hang out with.
We are a family that moved here from Spain last June.We brought our animals with us, they are a part of this family. We have a 16 year old son at home and two daughters that live away from home , but visit when they can. Our son loves animals and certainly doesn’t get knocked around by a boisterous dog!
I work almost full time, but never miss exercising myself and my dog. I am a runner, but have to walk at the moment because of a knee injury. I look after my animals as I do the rest of the family and if you asked them they have the best of homes.
Please feel free to contact us for more info or if you would like to meet us. I hope you consider us as I know Taggert would fit in just fine with us.
    Best wishes,

Hi, we saw your advert for taggart on craigslist, we would so love to have him here with us, but sadly we dont have room, our two boys take up all the rug already! I have featured him on my blog today to try to help spread the word and find him a new home.

Hi were a family of four and we are really interested in your dog as we recently lost ours to cancer. We would love to come out and meet Taggart. We love aggressive dogs and he would fit in our family perfectly. We have a great big, fenced back yard and tons of trails in our neighbourhood. We understand you are asking $150 but were willing to pay more as he’s perfect for us.

    Hi Paul

I wonder if your post had a typo? Taggart is totally NON aggressive LOL! I don’t think I have an aggressive dog to adopt to you at the moment…heehee.

I will send you an email with an adoption application and we can move forward from there….hope to hear from you.

Hello. I adopted my big boy and love him to bits. He is doing fantasticaly. He loves people., loves to show everyone his toys as soon as them come to the house., is super with other dogs. wants to play with all of them. .. children he loves and is very good with them. He is losing weight with his diet and lots of exercise and starting to feel more comfortable going in the lake. As at a 120 lbs,. when I adopted him he was not comfortable going in the water and now is slowly feeling a bit better about it. Awsome Boy. He is comfy at night with us and could care less about the 2 cats. Right now he is flacked out in our family room. thanks so much take care
