Scooter (aka Reggie) adopted

Scooter is about 3 years old.  A happy go lucky little guy.  Very friendly, good with other dogs, and he likes kids too.  It is sad when people think dogs are disposable.  Scooter was left behind when his owners moved out, the landlord found these dogs a few days later after not being able to reach their tenants.

He is about 13 lbs, a little chunky in the mid section, but nothing a good run everyday couldn’t fix.  He is still learning his basic commands, but is very praise motivated and would learn fast.  He is fine on leash and is crate trained too.  Scooter would love a forever home that will treat him as the special little Ewok that he is!

His adoption fee is $395.  An adoption application and home visit is required.  Please email us at to request an application or one can be found on our website.

He is absolutely adorable! He may be a consideration as a partner for Ruby. Yuana, we lost our darling Kip to heart disease in August after having him for one and a half years. Nothing more could be done for my sweet little man. We had him privately cremated and he sits with us for always! He and Ruby were such wonderful pals and Ruby took good care of her big brother. I miss him so much! I think Ruby would like another pal to snuggle with and so would I!

That has to be one of the happiest faces I’ve seen in a long time. What a charmer. Does anyone know what breed(s) he is?
Also, in the description above it says “…the landlord found these dogs” — these dogs? Which other dogs were found along with him. Curious to know if there might be more of the same breed as it looks as though Janet Zarowny will be adopting this little darling. I can’t get over that face! [me smiling from ear to ear] Wonder if he sounds like an ewok.

    Hi Janet and Kim

How are you?? Janet I am sorry to hear about Kip…he is in doggie heaven with many of my little friends, and won’t be lonely. I think Scooter would make a great addition to your family. He is spunky, fun, affectionate, and very willing to please. He get along great with all the other dogs too. Let me know if you would like to take him home, after all you are pre-approved.

Kim – Scooter was left behind with a large dog friend of his, who went to another rescue society, unfortunately I am not yet set up for large dogs, still trying to raise enough money to get that section set up. Still looking far into the future I think.

    Update on Scooter:
Scooter was picked out of the group by our Ruby. Took Ruby to the adoption fair at Pet Smart to meet the Dogs Dhana Metta had there. We took out the Shih Tzu’s that were there one by one, including Doris and Nana, to see how Ruby interacted with them.

Scooter came out the clear winner. They are the best of buds and spend a lot of time playing and grooming each other. It is such a blast to watch these two together. So full of life, joy and playfulness.

Thanks Dhana Metta for bring these two wonderful dogs into our lives.

    Matt, Jan & Ashley
