Milhouse – Adopted

Milhouse came to us last March 2009, as a young puppy, he was just adorable, the runt of his litter…tinier than all the rest.  He was adopted and has been on his own for a year or so.  He is now almost all grown up, and is looking for a new committed forever home.  He is 1.5 years old.  A Walker Hound X Lab.  About 42 lbs but could stand to gain some weight.

I could tell you stories about how he spent his past year, and what condition he was in when he came back to us just over a month ago.  But I fear the backlash from the previous owners, as they have denied ever being neglectful.  As with all dogs, Milhouse needs a pack leader, consistency, calm patient training, but with assertiveness.  He is house broken, and crate trained, however, we would like to see him never kept in a crate again…ever.

Milhouse is a total clutz….it is very funny actually….he doesn’t know how to operate those long limbs of his…makes me laugh.  He is super gentle with other dogs, not an aggressive bone in his body.  He listens to me exceptionally well.  He does get very excited when playing with other dogs, and even when he is told off, he still thinks it’s all a joke.

He would be great with children that are a bit larger, as he does not know his strength, and could knock a small child over.  But he would never intentionally hurt any child or animal.

We never thought Milhouse would grow to the size he is now, and his siblings are much larger than he is.  Milhouse is neutered, vaccinated, wormed, and has had a full look over by the orthopedic specialist at Canada West since his return.  An adoption application and home visit applies as usual.  Milhouse’s adoption fee is $295.

what a beautiful dog… it’s times like this I wish I had a house… I love all the bigger breeds… but think it (might not) be fair of me to keep one in an apartment… I hope you find a lovely home Milhouse.
