Joni (aka Jodie) – ADOPTED!

Joni and her sister Jolene came into the rescue about 3 months ago.  Jolene found a home very quickly.  Joni broke her leg, and needed to have surgery to repair it.  So she stayed with us until she was all healed up and ready to run again.

Joni and Jolene are so similar in looks and personality.  They are Chihuahua x Schipperke.  Joni is about 10 months old now, and full of energy after being confined during her healing time.  She is now housebroken, and listens very well.  Her fear of humans has lessened so much it is like she is a totally different dog then when she first came in.

She is a super fast runner, and she loves to play with the other dogs.  She is fine with cats too.  She would prefer a home without young children as she is still somewhat fearful of quick movements.  She needs a ton of chew toys cause that is one of her favorite things to do.  She herds her human as the Schipperke does and loves to cuddle like a chihuahua.

Joni has been spayed, dewormed, revolutioned and fully vaccinated.  Her leg has completely healed and the pins have been removed.  Joni’s adoption fee is $495.  If you have questions or would like to receive an application to adopt her, please email us at

wooho we are so happy to see Neko’s (formerly Jolene) sister adopted. we have been anxiously watching as we felt a kinship with Joni as she was Neko’s sister and they look alot alike. Neko is a joy everyday, and we know that Joni will bring lots of hapiness to her new home to.

Well guess what.. we all ran into each other randomly at the Fraser Foreshore Park in Burnaby today! I thought the little dog in the distance looked familiar and it turned out to be Jodi’s sister! What were the chances?

We have had Jodi(e) for just over two months now. We have renamed her Kaslo. She is doing really well. She is a wonderful companion, loves company, and is warm and playful. She is very obedient too. Likes to walk a lot. We take her to local parks and on walking trails. She even came on a 12-day camping trip through the Rockies! We have met up with her sister, Neko, and Neko’s owners, twice now. (The first time, by accident!) Kaslo has become a wonderful part of our family, and we’re grateful for the great care she received from Dhana Metta.
