Marshall – Adoption Pending

Update on Marshall – July 23, 2009

Marshall has found a foster home and has been doing extremely well there.  He is as soft as I thought he was, cuddly, and affectionate.  Still a little nervous of strangers, but adapting very well to a home with way less dogs than here at the rescue.

He is still however, waiting for his forever human.  One that can be patient, understanding, and experienced with rescue chihuahuas.  He should not be in a home with children, but loves other dogs.

__________________________________________________________________

He was picked up on the streets of California as a stray.  Nobody ever came to claim him.  He was put on the red list – and given 3 days to be adopted.  His time was almost up, and was pulled by another rescue just in the nick of time.

Fidel

He was sent to our rescue here in Vancouver, and is ready for his forever home.  He is very skinny, and sure could stand to gain a few pounds.  He is tiny, about 4lbs right now.  He has been a perfect gentleman with all the other dogs here, and ignores Bob the cat.  However, when someone new comes over, it takes him some time to assess this new person before he decides to accept them.  NO CHILDREN.

He sure is a real sweetie, and he gives me those I love you eyes, like most chihuahuas do.  He really does like to cuddle (once he deems you suitable for him).  He is crate trained, and likes to go there to sleep.  He doesn’t cry or scream once in his crate, but feels very comfortable.  If you are that forever human that Sidekick has been waiting for, please email us at dhanametta@yahoo.ca for an adoption application.  Home visits are required.

Fidel aka MarshallMarshall’s  adoption fee is $295, he has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated.

It is nice to hear of more and more animal rescues.
It is sad to hear some of the stories and I can not beleive how ignorant/cruel some people are.

I live in Terrace, B.C. and have rescued 16 cats, found homes for 4 and kept the other 12 cause they needed a home.
I have 3 big dogs and recently took 4 traumitized puppies out of a back of a pickup truck that said “Free puppies in back of truck”
I was soooo angry when I saw the state these puppies were in.

I am now proud to say these traumatized puppies are coming around and I have adopted 2 to excellent homes and I may have to keep the other two if I do not find a good home for them..

The problem with living up North is the have no discount spay/neuter programs in Terrace, so we get these problems over an over again

I can not even get any help to spay/ neuter these two puppies even after having already paid out of pocket to spay/neuter 3 dogs and 12 cats.
We even fixed two dogs knees with the cost of $4400.00 and one cats leg $800.00

So it is frustrating as we have no discount spay / neuter program which makes helping the animals quite expensive

I admire you for your help with these poor animals and I hope one day these puppy mills are all closed down

    Sue

    XOXO

    Well Sue

If we can help you out with dogs in anyway in the future, please let us know. If we had someone to volunteer to drive them to Vancouver, we would gladly take care of all their vet needs and find them wonderful homes.

You have our email address, together with Beady Singer and other rescue partners, we can all save far more lives that ever before.

Finally after so many years, our hope for communal efforts is coming true.

Namaste Sue and all your kitties and Doggies!! Keep up the good work, the world needs more people like you!!!

I wanted to say my own thank you Sue. Appreciation where it is due. And as my fellow rescuer said above, to be able to work together is what the rescue community needs. I hope we can help you in some way as we have resources down here. Well done to you for your courage and dedication.

    Heartfelt Thanks.

I agree with Mandarin, what a great looking little fellow! I can’t believe nobody scooped him up. If I hadn’t got my chihuahua fix with Hurley, I’d be all over this one.

Marshall, aka Marshmellows, has been with our family for over a year now & has come such a long way! He has 4 fur-brothers but especially loves Charlie, his Chi-brother. He is the sweetesat thing & we all love him dearly. He loves to cuddle under a blanket & chew his teddies. Thanks to Yuana for bringing him into our lives!
