Quasi Moto – UPDATE

So Quasi had to have 11 teeth pulled out from in her head….they never impacted into her mouth.  She is recovering nicely, and had a spay while she was under.  we are so happy that she did not have to undergo a more serious surgery which would have caused her more suffering and a longer recovery time.

We want to thank all those who donated towards Quasi’s surgery, we had just enough for her, and have a couple of hundred left over for another dog that will need it eventually.  This will stay in our CanWest account until we need it again…THANK YOU ALL!!!

UPDATE OCTOBER 1ST, 2008

What a beautiful, sunny, warm, amazing first of October…..couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day.

Quasi is at CanWest this morning having her surgery done, it will not be as extensive as it could have been which is great for both Quasi and those that will care for her after picking her up tonite.

We would like to thank everyone for their donations towards Quasi, she will fell so much more comfortable after she has healed up.

Thanks to Joanne for fostering her and in the end adopting our little Quasi Moto.

UPDATE!!  JULY 15, 2008

We send out thank you’s to Lara for donating $500 to CanWest towards Quasi’s fund, and Jeffery for donating $200!!   Great big bear hugs to both of you!!

ANOTHER HUGE THANK YOU TO GLORIA AND ANTHONY FOR DONATING ANOTHER $1000, TO HELP QUASI.  We have reached $2000…..and need to hit a goal of $2500.

Quasi is now 6 1/2 months old, we have 1 1/2 months to go before she heads back to CanWest.

Can we reach our goal by then?

Well folks, we decided to shave Quasi right down, firstly cause she was getting so hot and could not breathe properly especially with her nose being in the wrong place! But secondly, we really wanted to see how badly her face had gotten over the 4 months that we have had her here with us.

HERE SHE IS!

Now that we can all see how badly this has gotten, we hope that more people will be interested in donating to help Quasi. It is evident that something will have to be done to reconstruct her jaw. So far, we have only raised $500. We graciously thank Linda for donating a hand painted pet portrait worth $600, however only one person bidded on the auction. We hope that more people will show interest in winning another hand painted pet portrait in the near future if Linda is willing to do it again!!

Let’s keep Quasi’s ball rolling…….She thanks you!

ORIGINAL POST MARCH 2008

We took the Little ShihTzu puppy with the crooked nose to see a specialist at Can West, Dr. Loic Lengendre was such a nice doctor and was so sweet to her. He called her Quasi, and we have decided that that will be her name!

After visiting Dr. Legendre, we have a better outlook on Quasi’s condition and future. We must wait until she is about 8 months old before moving forward. At that time she will have stopped growing, and the xrays can be taken. She will inevitably need to have dental surgery, or a far more extensive jaw surgery. This will run a cost of approximately $2500, give or take. To see her diagnosis: canwest-quasi

We would like to put forth an effort of working together to help get Quasi the proper care she needs to live out her life comfortably & healthily. Even a small donation towards her surgery gives her hope down this difficult and long journey of recovery.

It would only take 125 people donating $20 each to fund Quasi’s surgery. Can you afford to spare $20 to help Quasi? If you can, donations can be made directly to Canada West Veterinary Specialists or you can snail mail them to:

Quasi’s nose is moving further and further to the right, under her eye.

    Hello,

I saw your Ad before when you didn’t have a name for her yet. I’m glad that she will be taken care of. I’ll include Quasi in my prayers that you raise the funds you need to pay for her operation. I can only afford $20 for now and I’ll be mailing a cheque for $20 to your office on Kingsway.
Give Quasi a big hug for me.
    thanks,
    Elizabeth Dizon (Surrey, BC)

I read your ad on craig’s list. I feel for this little girl. I am an artist and as most artists in this country, we starve until we get our work known. I have just opened up my studio in my home. I paint oils on canvas. I don’t have any cash at this time to offer but… what I can do is to auction off my services. I do Animal portraits from photos of pets. I am willing to offer an original oil on canvas 16 x 20 pet portrait to the highest bidder with all the proceeds to go towards this surgery for Quasi. If this would be acceptable I’ll start the ball rolling.

sorry but that’s all I have.

    Blessings

Wow!! Thank you Linda! A portrait would be such an excellent gift to offer! This is so generous of you and a really wonderful idea. We gladly accept your offer to start the ball rolling.

Please let us know if you would like us to post this auction on our site.

    Graciously

    Hi,

I would like to make a donation for Quasi. Is it best to mail the donation to your office, or can I go to the Canada West Veterinary Specialists hospital and make a cash donation as I live close by?

Best to all the little ones that you are helping and god bless them.

    Hi Yuana,

Just making sure you got the $75 as my birthday gift from my work and the $75 I sent as the gift to Quasi-does that almost hit the mark?

    Thanks-G.

Lets see, haven’t received yours yet, but did receive the donation from your workplace. So now, with those put together, we have reached $2154 and some odd cents.

That almosts hits the mark of $2500…. her next visit will drain the fund of $160 for her re-check and $200 for her xrays, so we will be back down to under $2000, buts that’s all good…

We are all praying that her body has developed well enough that she won’t need more than one surgery….or hopefully just needs minor reconstructive surgery, we will see….one month to go before her next check up!

Thank you to all that have donated so far – without you we could never help any of these precious little souls!

    Namaste

    Yuana
